On the one hand, Delia does not consider her father to be completely bad, but in fact she is only afraid to argue with him.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DrivenToSuicide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Driven to Suicide<\/a>: As in the film, Delia&#8217;s mother kills herself with a pistol.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DidIMentionItsChristmas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Did I Mention It&#8217;s Christmas?<\/a>: The final chapters of the third act take place on December 27, 1991.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DamselinDistress\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Damsel in Distress<\/a>: In some ways, Delia has these traits in her, at least according to Galbraith.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DevelopingDoomedCharacters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Developing Doomed Characters<\/a>: Delia and Jordan Thurlow have a lot of screen time, but they ultimately die. And that&#8217;s not counting the four deaths that inspector Pharqraut (who also dies) was investigating.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DeathOfAChild\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Death of a Child<\/a>: Delia dies in Randall Children&#8217;s Hospital.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DeathByAdaptation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Death by Adaptation<\/a>: Delia herself dies, and it is also implied that her father also did not survive the accident.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/BodyHorror\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Body Horror<\/a>: Inside Delia&#8217;s womb was what an eyewitness describes as a sea urchin. It is implied that this is either a parasite or some kind of congenital disease.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DeadAllAlong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dead All Along<\/a>: Delia and Jo both die, while in the original film the former remained alive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DrivingQuestion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Driving Question<\/a>: Almost all the characters ask similar questions, especially Galbraith.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/TheEveryman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Everyman<\/a>: It plays out curiously with Delia\u2019s family. Just as the girl herself is essentially an ordinary child, so her father, instead of a congressman, is reduced to a simple medicine seller.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Does This Remind You of Anything?<\/a>: Essentially, doctor Baselard removes Delia&#8217;s uterus. In some ways, this can be interpreted as meaning that he actually raped her.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DemotedToExtra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Demoted to Extra<\/a>: Delia&#8217;s mother is a minor character here, and the author writes very superficially about her death, as if he did not care about this character.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DroppedABridgeOnHim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dropped a Bridge on Him<\/a>: This is precisely the fate that Delia\u2019s mother undergoes, who dies, just like in the film, but not at the end, but in the middle of the story. A similar thing also happens to Pharqraut, Galbraith&#8217;s friend, who is suddenly killed by strange people from a black car.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DeadpanSnarker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deadpan Snarker<\/a>: Mister chief inspector Schaeymoure, who not only is not surprised by what happened to his subordinate Galbraith, but on the contrary himself contributed to the fuel of paranoia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DiesDifferentlyInAdaptation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dies Differently in Adaptation<\/a>: In the film, a character named Jo falls out of a window, and this was clearly Delia&#8217;s fault. In &#8220;Always Visible&#8221;, Jordan Thurlow dies of throat cancer in prison after learning of the death of a girl with that name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DoomedByCanon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Doomed by Canon<\/a>: If we consider this work to be a novelization of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0102585\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Omen IV: The Awakening<\/a>, then it will be obvious that the character named Jo and the mother of the girl named Delia will inevitably die during the plot. In the second case, even the method of death is exactly the same.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/DumbStruck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dumb Struck<\/a>: Jordan Thurlow goes to prison after meeting Delia.
