This is very out of touch with the main narrative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/ThroughTheEyesOfMadness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Through the Eyes of Madness<\/a>: It is implied that Galbraith clearly does not see the incident in a normal state and that he is close to a breakdown &#8211; especially towards the end of the third act.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/TimeSkip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Time Skip<\/a>: It plays out in a strange way in the third act, when Galbraith gets into a taxi and ends up moving forward two months, with everyone around thinking that the inspector himself simply does not remember the current date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/TechnoBabble\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Technobabble<\/a>: Almost all of the final chapters of the third act are of this nature, as the computer specialist brings the clue to the clueless police inspector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/TakeThat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Take That!<\/a>: In the third act, from Heathrow Airport to the &#8220;Stait of Snow Lake&#8221; Galbraith was driven by a taxi driver, who starts a conversation with the passenger on the topic of how modern literature panders to the base instincts of the audience and cites Stephen King&#8217;s &#8220;Carrie&#8221; as an example, quoting a line from the very first page of this work.
